Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - My Favorite Star Trek Film
"Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home" is my favorite Star Trek film, there is not a moment in it that I do not love. I love Star Trek II and Star Trek VI also, but I love this film just a little bit more. Most of you know the plot: an alien entity is menacing the earth of the 23rd century. Kirk, Spock and the gang must go back to 1986 San Francisco, in their captured Klingon vessel, to bring back 2 hump-backed whales, (extinct in the 23rd century,) to communicate with this entity.
What do I ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great movie!!
Great movie, fun for everyone even for non Star Trek fans. Also this Blu-ray edition comes with a lot of extras that makes it even better.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Do you think Spock should change his mind?
A space probe is approaching earth. Its requests are causing great havoc. They can not be answered. That is unless Kirk and his crew can go back in time to fetch the intended parties.

Of all of the post series original movies, this one captures the essence of the series best. Yes it carries an important message, as that is the purpose of sci-fi. The technology is consistent with the series. And the charters conform to type.

But what makes this movie stand out is the character ... Read More

First off, I'm a Star Trek fan, and this was an okay movie that I feel was bogged down with an environmental message. I don't mind a small message when it comes to movies, but this was kind of over the top for me.

Kirk and crew have to travel back in time in order to bring two humpback whales to the future in order to stop a probe from destroying Earth, and it seems that the whales are the only ones that can stop the probe with their "whale song."

This was light hearted comedy. ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - The Voyage WHERE!?
First of all, let me start by saying this 1-star review has NOTHING to do with the quality of the Blu-Ray. The 1080p resolution and the 7.1 TrueHD sound are simply stunning. Seriously. Shots of the Bounty (Kirk's Klingon Bird-of-Prey) will leave you feeling as though they were filmed with today's technology. It can't get much better than that.
The 1-star review is content-related. But I'd like to start with what I appreciate about the film. I appreciate that, when I was 13, this was my favorite ... Read More
