Teen Wolf the movie debuted in 1985 the same summer as Back to the Future. In one week during that summer the movies shared the number one and number two spot. Of course Back the the Future made a lot more money, but the Teen Wolf movie was definitely a big part of the 80's and Michael J. Fox's early career. Just like Back the Future, Teen Wolf got it's own Saturday morning cartoon show.  It's a classic 80's teen movie sci-fi comedy with a good moral thrown in at the end for good measure.  Some of the highlights of the movie are the Teen Wolf using his wolf powers to play some awesome basketball, and surfing on top of a van while it's moving.

Warning Spoiler The ending is what stands out to me the most. It's like a combo of the Rocky and Karate Kid movies popular at the time. Fox's character Scott Howard faces off against the basketball bully at the end beating him, but not with his wolf powers. He decides to beat him as a human, and with the help of his fellow teammates. During the b-ball final scene they play a very 80's type theme song with the words "Win in the end" sung over and over again. As a teen back then you just had to want to play a game of basketball after watching this movie. I recommend this one for anybody who grew up in the 80's. Check out the Teen Wolf DVD, dudes. It's awesome!

Silver Spoons & The Hogan Family's, Jason Bateman, takes over in the next film along with returning star James Hampton as Harold Howard. You might remember him as the bugler from F-Troop. This time he's the uncle instead of the dad to the new Teen Wolf. This time they take the theme to boxing and go to college, but it's not near as good as the original. Just doesn't pick up enough steam. For more movie werewolves check out Wolf Man, Van Helsing, and Underworld. and for more totally awesome monster flicks how about the Lost Boys and the Army of Darkness.
