Robert Mario "Bob" De Niro, Jr.
(August 17, 1943) is a two-time Academy Award-winning
American film actor, director and producer. He is widely
regarded as one of the greatest and most influential
actors of his time.
De Niro is noted for his method acting and portrayals of
conflicted, troubled characters - as well as gangsters -
and for his enduring collaboration with director Martin
Scorsese. He is best-known for his roles as the young
Vito Corleone in The Godfather Part II; cabbie Travis
Bickle in Taxi Driver; boxer Jake LaMotta in Raging
Bull; mobster Jimmy Conway in Goodfellas; casino owner
Sam "Ace" Rothstein in Casino; Al Capone in The
Untouchables; revenge seeking ex-con Max Cady in Cape
Fear; Noodles in Once Upon a Time in America; Michael
Vronsky in The Deer Hunter and more recently as Jack
Byrnes in Meet the Parents. He will be playing Jordi
Savall in an upcoming biopic about the viol player's
life directed by François Girard. |
