Hit The Ice is a 1943 film starring the comedy team of Abbott and Costello and directed by Charles Lamont. Two sidewalk photographers, Tubby McCoy (Lou Costello) and Flash Fulton (Bud Abbott) try to photograph a building caught on fire. Tubby get's hurt or as hurt as you can get on a Abbott and Costello movie and winds up at a hospital where some gangsters are planning a bank robbery. The gangster pretends to be sick at the hospital which is just next door to the bank creating a perfect alibi. The gangster, Silky Fellowsby, thinking by mistake that Abbott and Costello (Tubby and Flash) are killers, he hires them to help him rob the bank. They mistake shooting people at a bank for shooting pictures.

After the bank is robbed, Tubby and Flash are considered the prime suspects so in order to clear their names, they follow the gangsters to a ski resort. They use their bank photographs to trick the gangsters which leads to a climatic fight scene and chase.

A lot of singing in this one not from Abbott and Costello, but from Ginny Simms a big band singer. Abbott and Costello do the usual slapstick with perfect comic timing which makes for a very enjoyable picture.

This DVD is a awesome deal.  The film quality is nice. It's not a cheap reproduction and you get 8 movies for less than the price of one new movie.
